Complete your entire program at our Yarmouth, MA campus or in a hybrid / distance format with the final week of lab sessions built into the program! Online and in the classroom, you will engage in your emergency medical technician didactic and hands on skills education. Course curriculum covers anatomy, physiology, patient assessment, survey, triage, bleeding control, treatment of shock, oxygen therapy, and more. 

Our online course management system allows students access to all handouts, lectures, videos, and podcasts of each lecture at any time during the program.

Throughout your program, you will be trained to handle a multitude of real-world situations through extensive hands-on training and instruction in our state-of-the-art simulation ambulance and simulation labs.

Our Hybrid courses allow for instructor-led optional study session participation while completing the majority of the coursework without the need to be in front of the computer at any specific time. Our talented instructors guide you through the program and do not let anyone fall behind! Interactive discussion boards, research and activities ensure our students get the same experience as being in the classroom for the entire program. 

Traveling to our Cape Cod campus for the skills week? Our enrollment specialists will guide you to our partner hotels (with EMT student rates) within walking distance from the school! 

Students who successfully complete the didactic and practical portions of the course will be eligible for the National Registry exam.

After Course Completion: National Registry Examination fee, Psychomotor Exam fee

Once your application is received, a telephone or in-person interview will be arranged via the scheduler. Your $250 deposit is required to secure your seat and can be made during or prior to your interview. The interview is CASUAL, but is used as a means to convey important course information, tour the school (in-person interviews), and review course policies. The interview also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and gather information that may be useful to prepare you as a student.

Career Overview

In order to be eligible to take the State/National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (written & skills based), exam students must meet the following requirements set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. No prior experience or training is required of the course applicant. The applicant, in order to be eligible for the state EMT certification examination must:

  • be able to read, understand and communicate in English

  • be 18 years of age (16 to take the course)

  • be free from addiction to alcohol or any drug

  • be able to lift and carry 125 pounds

  • be free from any physical or mental defect or disease which might impair his/ her ability to provide emergency care within the scope of the EMTs training and responsibilities, or which might jeopardize the health of another member of the class

  • The student must also successfully complete the EMT course including 100% attendance

  • Internet access is required in order to research and complete course assignments and participate in an EMT online testing component. (Computer labs with wifi access are available at the school)
